SUFFOLK — Mr. Robert E. Eley, 57, of Bradford Drive in Suffolk, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk. He was the son of the late Robert Lee Eley and Ethel Strong Eley.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Linda D. Eley of Suffolk; three daughters, Rhonda M. Darden (Alexander), LaTeachia Newsome (Ron) and Rochelle Eley, all of Suffolk; two sons, Reginald Taylor (Victoria) of Seattle, and Robert M. Eley (Renee) of Suffolk; two sisters, Patricia Walker (Warren) of Chesapeake and Evelyn Eley of Suffolk; three brothers, Ronald Eley (Lavern) of Chesapeake, and James Eley and Michael Eley, both of Suffolk; one aunt, Alice Taylor of Philadelphia; one uncle, Clarence Strong of Ahoskie, N.C.; one brother-in-law, Lonnie Taylor of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Stella Jackson; sixteen grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Lebanon Church of God In Christ, 1732 Mt. Lebanon Ave, Suffolk. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 6113 Bradford Drive, Apt. A, Suffolk.
