SUFFOLK — Rebecca Skeeter Reid, 106, of 1929 Meadow Country Road, Suffolk, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Suffolk, Va., and the daughter of the late Debra Ann Skeeter; stepfather, Thaddeus Skeeter, and her husband, Admon Reid.
She was a member of Mt. Ararat Christian Church where she was a deaconess and member of the Mt. Ararat Missionary Lodge No. 1.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Debora Ricks, of Washington, D.C., Clara A. Reid, of Norfolk, Va., and Vivian Jubray, of Suffolk; five sons, P. Calvin Reid, of Queens, N.Y., Andrew Reid (Adele), of Washington, D.C., Fulcher Reid (Ina), of Chesapeake, Va., Roy Reid (Daisy), and Richard Reid, both of Suffolk; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be held at noon Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 at Mt. Ararat Christian Church with Dr. H.H. Murrill officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
