SUFFOLK — James Edward Everett, 71, of 804 West Constance Road, Apt. 113, Suffolk, passed away Nov. 19, 2009. A native of Nansemond County (Suffolk), he was son of the late Eunice Everett. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 35 years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Linda Everett; five daughters, Diane Wiggins (Manuel), of Gates, N.C., Sally Daughtery (Jon), Sarah Petty (Jim), Francis Lee Parker and Glinda Parker, all of Suffolk; two sons, Fred Lynn Parker, of Suffolk and Randy Parker, of Newport News; three sisters, Elma Elizabeth Jones (John), of Alabama, Dorothy Jones (Leroy), of Suffolk and Mary Everett, of Connecticut; two brothers, Andrew Everett (Sarah), and McCoy Everett, of Suffolk; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Wilkins (Maryland), of Suffolk and Patricia Washington, of California; 24 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two devoted friends, Thomas Scott and Robert Saunders; one uncle, one aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at Rising St. James PHC, 201 North Sixth St., conducted by Elder Aaron Porter and Bishop Dwight Whitfield. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
