Ronnie Holland

Ronnie Jasper Holland was born to the Rev. John Jasper Holland and Iola Hargrove Holland on Sept. 6, 1948 in Nansemond County, Va. He departed this life on Nov. 10, 2009.
He received his education from Southwestern High School in Suffolk, Va. He was a member of Laurel Hill United Church of Christ.
He was a retired subcontract worker from area shipyards.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, John W. Holland, Helleon O. Holland and George A. Holland.
Left to mourn are his siblings, Mary H. Edmonds, of Chesapeake, Va., Howard A. Holland (Jessie), of Forestdale, Mass., Waymond Beacher Holland (Lucille), of Suffolk, Va., Jaquel H. Parker, of Philadelphia, Pa., Lenora H. Tiggle, of Chicopee, Mass., and A. Marie H. Williams (Charles), of Philadelphia, Pa.
Also, he leaves to cherish his memory three other sisters-in-law, Carnell Holland, Lula Holland and Brenda Holland; seven nieces, nine nephews, 25 great-nieces and –nephews, a substantial number of other relatives and a special friend, George Copeland.
A service will be held at noon Monday, Nov. 16, at Laurel Hill UCC Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. Peebles Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge of services.
