Ivan Heath

WINDSOR — Ivan Donald Heath, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Quinby, Va., the son of the late Alonzo W. and Margaret Taylor Heath, and was predeceased by his wife of 67years, Nannie McClenny Heath and his sister, Louise Rebecca Schultze.
Mr. Heath was an Army veteran of WW II and was retired from Southern States as a truck driver after 30 years service. He was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Louise H. Brinkley (Floyd) and Evelyn H. Holland (Sammy), all of Suffolk, and Linda H. Edwards (Gray) of Franklin; six grandchildren, Janet Lynn Cortez of Sioux Falls, S.D., David Scott Brinkley (Jeannie), Christopher Jay Brinkley (Christie), Kelly Chaney (David), all of Suffolk, Tammy Hodge (Steve) of Wilson, N.C., and Jamie Landry (Aaron) of Emporia; 13great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Steve Hills officiating. Interment will follow in Holland Cemetery.
