SMITHFIELD — Ocie Jermaine Stokes passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk. He was born Feb. 24, 1981 to his loving parents, Ocie Stanley and LaVerne Stokes, of Smithfield.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Candice Stokes (Dontae Edwards), of Hampton, Va.; Mary Catherine Eley, of Smithfield; a devoted niece, Lazya Johnson, of Hampton, Va.; two nephews, Deonate E:dwards, of Hampton, and Marquel Eley, of Smithfield; maternal grandparents, Decater and Marvin Fisher, of Ivor, Va.; a devoted uncle, James Fisher, of Smithfield; a special aunt, Louise F. Haskins, of Ivor; a special friend of the family, Tasia Day, of Fayetteville, N.C.; and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Ivor, Va. Interment will be in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
