The funeral service of Harry Wayne Winborne, 67, who died Dec. 15, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Calvin King will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens.
A native of Northhampton County, N.C., Mr. Winborne had resided in both Lee County and Crisp County, Ga. He was a retired truck driver formerly employed with Schilli Trucking and owned and operated Winborne Trucking. He was a member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Vicky Askew and Freddy, of Leesburg, Ga., Tracy Wehrlin and Russ, of St. Louis, Mo.; three sons, Wayne Winborne, Brad Winborne and his wife, Tami, all of Leesburg, Ga., Joey Winborne, of Augusta, Ga., three brothers and their wives, John Robert Winborne and Rachel, of Buckhorn, Va., Raymond Winborne and Cheryl, of Leesburg, Ga. and Royce Winborne and Brenda, of Pensacola, Fla., two sisters, Mary Lane Hart, of Cordele, Ga., Joyce Roach and her husband, George, of Leesburg, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
