SUFFOLK — Rose Faulk Horne Holland, 67, of the 2500 block of Woodland Trail, died Dec. 6, 2009, in Sentara Obici Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Johnnie P. Faulk Sr. and Thelma Lawrence Faulk. She retired from Portsmouth Public Schools after 33 years of service.
Mrs. Holland was a member of Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ Sunday school and senior usher board. She was also a member of Suffolk Links, Diamond Life member and alumnae Suffolk Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Inc.
She was predeceased by her sister, Juanita Williams; brothers, Junious, Lee Thomas, Theodore and Howard Faulk.
Survivors include her daughter, Charletta Horne-Tanner; son-in-law, Benjamin J. Tanner Jr.; and two brothers, J.P. Faulk Jr. (Marcell) and Albert Faulk (Naomi).
The Suffolk Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Inc. will have an Omega Omega service from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at New Life Center, 100 E. Constance Road, Suffolk.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ, with the Rev. John T. Myers officiating.
