Margie C. Jones, 82, of 103 North Capital St., Suffolk, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Sam and Eliza Davis Cook. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Ann Crocker; her son, William Lee Jones; five sisters, Annie C. Newton, Helen Mae Lassiter, Rebecca Cook, Marie Almond, Gladys Mitchell; two brothers, Sam Cook and Charlie Cook.
She retired as a domestic worker and was a member of St. Timothy Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 66 years, Harry Jones Jr.; two sons, Charlie C. Jones (Joann) and Terence A. Jones, of Suffolk; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral was held Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at St. Timothy Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Thomas Harden, Jr. Interment was in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home was in charge.
