Fire destroys barn in Holland

Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire at 2:37 a.m. to find a barn engulfed in flames on the 7700 block of Quaker Drive.
Emergency Communications was contacted at 2:25 a.m., according to a press release. When Fire and Rescue arrive on scene they found the two-story barn on fire. The barn and its contents were deemed a total loss, according to a press release.
There were several motorcycles, a boat and personal lawn equipment inside the barn, and the pick-up truck just outside the structure was also a total loss due to the fire.
The house nearby only sustained minor heat damage to its siding.
The fire was deemed under control at 3:24 a.m., almost an hour after being on scene.
Responding units included Engines 4, 7 and 8, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Safety 1, EMS-1, Tanker 1 and Medic 7. Mutual aid was provided by the Carrsville Volunteer Fire Department and Tanker 20.
There were no injuries, and the Fire Marshal will be investigating the cause of the fire.
