Angel Louise Ellis, 25, of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Riverside Convalescent Center.
She was a special young lady who touched the lives of all who she knew with her unconditional love, quick smile, and easy laughter. Angel enjoyed music, movies, travel and theme parks. She went to Powwows in at least six states, spent many days at Busch Gardens and took her family to meet Beauty and the Beast at Disney World on a trip sponsored by the Make a Wish Foundation.
Angel loved to dress up as movie characters, including Pocahontas, Tinker lily and Dorothy, from The Wizard of Oz. She often insisted on wearing her red shoes, which she called her “Rubies.”
Angel was preceded in death by her grandparents, Peggy M. Reid and Charles L. Post.
Angel was the daughter of Carroll Thomas Ellis of Corapeake, N.C., and Nora Post of Kill Devil Hills, N.C. She is also survived by her sisters, Lisa Chilcote and husband, Gavin, of Virginia Beach and Kimberly Scribner and husband, Joshua, of Suffolk; paternal grandmother, Gladys Saunders and grandfather, “Paw Paw” Edward Saunders, Sr. of Suffolk; and her cousins, Bryant and Gaurielle Chilcote, and Dylan and Natalie Scribner.
A Life Celebration Service will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 8 in Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Laura Early officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Crittenden. Family and friends will gather for visitation in the funeral home, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
