Kenneth L. Hobbs Sr., of 11112 Tarrytown Court, Newport News, Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Suffolk, Va., and the son of the late Ethel Seabron Hobbs. He was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Hilliard.

He was a 1970 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and attended Norfolk State University. He retired from Northrop Grumman Shipyard.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Kenneth Hobbs Jr. (Victoria), of Newport News, Va., and Anthony Hobbs (Janice), of Hampton, Va.; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Sykes (Juanita), of Atlanta, Ga.; devoted ex-wife, Alice Hobbs; a devoted niece, Belinda Hilliard; other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
