Hazel Lonese Hurdle, 92, of 2580 Pruden Blvd., Suffolk, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2010 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Charleston, S.C., and the daugther of the late Joseph I. Garrett and Beulah Williamson Garrett. She was also predeceased by her husband, Ulysses C. Hurdle; two sisters, Edith Housen and Edna Garrett; two brothers, David Garrett and Joseph Garrett.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Carol E. Evans, of Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Naomi Clark, of Stony Brook, N.Y.; one grandchild, Robin White; one great-grandchild, Joshua Alexander White; other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at Carver Memorial Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Frederick Walker. The family will assemble at noon in the chapel of the funeral home for the procession to the cemetery. A wake will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
